    Primary Purpose:
    kate spade new york is looking for an experienced, goal-oriented, email marketing professional to contribute to managing our daily email marketing program as well as assisting in the behavioral & lifecycle email programs and on-site micro-conversion campaigns. A successful email marketing associate will work with the Senior Manager to help set the strategy, day-to-day management, and successful execution of these programs. The associate will work directly with the Senior Manager to implement the overall strategy to drive increased sales and ROI from the email channel. This role will be instrumental in building a best-in-class email program that drives conversion and improves customer retention. This includes brief development, execution with our agency, and building dashboards & reporting to track program performance. This role will work collaboratively across internal teams (CRM, brand marketing, paid marketing, site, creative, buying, and IT teams) and external teams (marketing agencies, vendors, partners) to execute. The email marketing associate will also have the opportunity to seek out new technology & innovation with existing & new vendors.     The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in the ecommerce department to...

    • Strategize and execute daily marketing emails and behavioral/lifecycle email programs and on-site micro-conversion campaigns end-to-end with agency including trafficking assets, setting business rules & audience targeting, QA & approval, and monitoring performance
    • Manage the set-up and deployment of complex automated communications within Salesforce (ExactTarget), BounceExchange (behavioral email programs) and Movable Ink (real-time email personalization)
    • Own the maintenance of the customer communication roadmap, marketing calendar, and the creation of email briefs. This involves working across various departments in the company including creative, buying, planning, e-commerce, and CRM
    • Track key email metrics such as delivered, open rate, click-to-open rate, revenue, conversion rate, revenue-per-email, and opt-out rate by various email types and/or segments, establishing benchmarks for each
    • Create & communicate reports (weekly, seasonal, ad hoc, etc.) that analyze findings, identify trends and recommend a course of action
    • Resident expert in the ESP (Salesforce) interface including email coding & set-up, list management, subscriber look-up, reporting, etc. as well as primary contact to resolve issues with Salesforce support in partnership with our agency
    • Proactively resolve problems and roadblocks in order to keep work flow on schedule and escalate higher level conflicts to manager for resolution


    The accomplished individual will possess...

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • 3-4 years of experience in an email marketing role required
    • Experience with a large scale ESP is a must; Salesforce (ExactTarget) experience preferred
    • Experience with producing and deploying emails through an email service provider
    • Experience working with a 3rd party email & website personalization partner (i.e. SmarterHQ, BlueCore, BounceExchange, Movable Ink, etc.)
    • Google Analytics experience required
    • Familiarity with email marketing best practices for revenue generation
    • Knowledge of list segmentation strategies
    • Understanding of email fundamentals: CAN-SPAM, segmentation, list/data extension management, KPIs, etc.
    • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMif statements, etc.)
    • Strong analytical and project management skills
    • Detail oriented with focus on delivering results
    • Self-starter, takes initiative, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
    • Ability to partner with multiple cross functional teams
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    An outstanding professional will have...

    • Direct to consumer e-commerce experience
    • Experience in HTML/CSS/AMPScript is a plus
    • Dreamweaver or Photoshop experience is a plus
