Responsibilities

The Assistant Designer, Novelty is responsible for assisting the Novelty Design team in all aspects of the design process and provide support as needed. He or she will be exposed to the design and art direction of graphics and illustrations of all categories. The ideal candidate is a highly creative individual who welcomes the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative team environment, and embrace change as the brand grows and develops.

 

  • Work in partnership with the Novelty team
  • Assist and help design artwork into approved seasonal concepts, colors and line plans for all categories
  • Understand the brand and how to translate that into illustrations and graphics
  • Be able to visualize and see how a print or artwork becomes translated into a product- especially when placing or scaling of artwork
  • Ensure assigned work is presentable for key meetings and ready for submission by calendar targets
  • Support team members where needed and requested
  • Sketch in to ideas and concepts
  • Build presentation decks for key meetings
  • Assist with presentations for key meetings

Qualifications

 

  • Mac proficiency
  • Typography skills
  • Experience in Adobe CS applications:
    • photoshop and illustrator required,
    • indesign experience a plus
